Moving home in late November really threw me through a loop. It had been so long since I’d last moved house that I didn’t remember how much of an upset it is… moving during such a harsh change of weather didn’t make it any easier. I normally don’t fall victim to the cold and the dark as I did this year. While I feel I’m over the change of the seasons, I don’t doubt that it will take a few months before I’m anywhere climatized to the new town.

That’s not to say the town isn’t pleasant and good-looking. There are plenty of spaces to explore inside of the town. From what I’ve already seen, I’m happy that there are plenty of independent shops. It’s nice to see a butchers, a florist, many, many coffee shops, but bigger bars and restaurants, too… all more on the expensive side, but that’s alright. If anything, I'm lucky to live by such an old town. It gives off some sort of reliability.

As the weeks and months go by, I hope the new house becomes more of a home I want to retreat to at the end of the day! I've pictures to frame and walls to paint. There's an empty garden that needs planted out come spring. For now things will just go slow.

Now, I bought some (unposed) Spirou postcards illustrated by Jijé for no reason other than I can. From his work at Dupuis, it’s easy to guess they date back to the early 1940s, but it’s hard to know for sure the year they were printed without any postmarks or correspondence on the reverse of the cards. I’ll be sharing scans of them on one of my blogs at a later date. I feel that Jijé is an underrated Spirou comic artist… We wouldn’t have Fantasio if it were not for Jijé.

Actually, I’m sitting on a few obscure Spirou album translations in the English laguage from some decades ago, and I’m eager to share them much sooner than later… but I need the time to scan them (preferably clean them) and arrange them into a readable document. I’ve enjoyed the Internet Archive for many a resource, but I’ve yet to upload anything to it myself. I feel it’s the safest place to post such things without much fret that it’ll get lost.

You know, I have some old, old weekly Spirou magazines with covers I like so much I would like to have them framed whislt I organsie pictures to mount on the walls of my new room.
